Professional resources in a confidential setting

The employee assistance program (EAP), is provided to you and your family by your employer. The EAP is a counseling service designed to help you recognize and solve problems that may be disrupting your work or personal life. The EAP provides easy access to confidential, professional services at no cost to you.

 

Humanitas' Motivational Counselling Service

Humanitas' Motivational Counselling Service provides you with assessment and brief counselling in order to resolve the immediate problem. The cost of the counselling is covered by your employer.

This service is not designed to provide long- term psychotherapy, but takes a problem solving approach to employees' work related or personal problems. Should an assessment indicate a long term treatment program is required, an appropriate referral will be made. This counselling service normally takes no more than ten sessions.

 

Assessment and Referral Services

Humanitas links troubled employees to community helping resources through it's following Assessment Referral Services:

 

1. A central HELPLINE telephone number. One telephone number which any employee can call from 7.00A.M. to midnight, seven days per week.

2. A diagnostic assessment resulting in development of a personal development plan.

3. If the nature of the presenting problem is beyond the scope of the EAP service, then counselling alternatives are defined and matched to the needs of the employee. A referral is then made to an appropriate community agency or treatment resource.

4. Monitoring of treatment, and start to finish, case management to ensure quality of service.
